A wizard is never late and a hobbit never misses the chance to share a meal with old friends.

Twenty-three years since they last appeared together in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, stars Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan, and Billy Boyd have reunited. On Saturday, the quartet of actors broke the internet when Astin shared a photo of them all together at the La Royal restaurant in Cambridge, Mass., smiling like a gang of happy hobbits.

"The band's all here," Astin, 55, wrote in the caption.

Hours later, Monaghan, 49, got in on the fun with a goofy selfie that also featured a couple photobombing them at a neighboring table.

"Four Halflings. Three cocktails. Two desserts. ONE great night of conversation. More to come. #becurious," he wrote, adding, "Shoutout to the couple in the back. Well played."

Down in the comments section, Instagram user bobdolmo wrote, "That's my wife and I over Billy's shoulder! ???? incredibly surreal. All the guys were such sweethearts. We chatted with them after dinner briefly."

Though they look a tad different at full height and without their full hobbit get-up, the actors are unmistakably the same four that journeyed across Middle-earth to destroy the One Ring and defeat Sauron in the epic Lord of the Rings trilogy that stretched from 2001 to 2003, eventually spawning a prequel trilogy, spinoffs and more. Wood played the heroic Frodo Baggins, Astin played his loyal companion Samwise Gamgee, Boyd starred as Peregrin "Pippin" Took, and Monaghan as Meriadoc "Merry" Brandybuck.

In the comments section of both posts, fans thrilled at the chance to see the four hobbits back together with one user writing, "The fact that you 4 still hang out is so goddamn endearing. Now that's a Fellowship!"

Another joked, "'And one plate of onion rings to bring them all.'"

Added one user, "imagine you're the hostess at this restaurant and the four hobbits roll up."

Meanwhile, one fan quoted J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit, writing, "If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world."

In addition to the trilogy, Wood made a brief cameo in the 2012 prequel film The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. He will next return as Frodo in The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, which is currently in production and scheduled to release in theaters on December 17, 2027. The film will also see Ian McKellen reprise his role as Gandalf, while Lee Pace returns as Thranduil.
